Xiwai has been my home for six years. I remain deeply grateful for the extraordinary teachers and administrators who have supported, inspired, and lifted me up—even within a flawed institution. This article does not diminish their contributions.
The decision to publish this investigation was made according to journalistic standards and The Magnolian's editorial independence. Student journalists have a responsibility to report on issues affecting their community, including those administrators may prefer remain private. As Xiwai's independent student newspaper, The Magnolian documents both achievements and failures. This is our fundamental mission.
We understand this article will cause discomfort and disagreement. The reporting has been verified through documentary evidence, multiple independent sources, and adherence to professional journalism standards. We welcome factual corrections and stand ready to publish the administration's response.
My reporting revealed a troubling pattern: many students share similar experiences with administrative practices and institutional priorities. A supportive and healthy learning environment is not a luxury—it is a necessity that should never be compromised. Xiwai has failed our student community in measurable ways, and we believe the school must act decisively to address these failures.
This article serves two purposes: informing our community of documented institutional conduct, and urging the school to reevaluate decisions that have caused demonstrable harm. Students deserve an institution that trusts them, believes in their capabilities, and treats them with dignity and respect.
I want to be proud of Xiwai. I believe everyone in our community wants the school to improve. But improvement requires the administration to listen to student voices, not dismiss them.
We stand by our reporting and our school community.
